After 30 years as a professional journalist – including nearly two decades in new media – award-winning editor Jon Donley has launched Dawnsinger LLC, a company providing commercial writing, editing and new media consulting.
Jon’s most recent post was a 12-year stint as the founding editor of NOLA.com, the leading New Orleans news and entertainment site that rose to national prominence during Hurricane Katrina. Among many other accolades, NOLA.com shared in two Pulitzer awards – Public Service and Breaking News – after the Pulitzer Committee changed the rules to expand the role of web coverage in prize considerations.
New media guru Jeff Jarvis said hiring Donley was one of the best decisions he made at Advance Internet, the corporate parent of NOLA.com. (Read interview with Jon Donley and Jeff Jarvis about the Katrina experience)
